Art as an internal light
“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”
Martin Luther King Jr.
Making my art is like shining a light on the inside. And I like what I make. And I enjoy the process of making it. I used to do it without thinking as a kid. Told this story a million times. But yeah, there came a time when “real life shit” made it more and more difficult to tap into that mode.
I made the wrong choice. So now, decades later, getting into that creator mode. It can kinda put you in an anxiety state. Not because “creativity causes anxiety,” but because it's been so long since you created. That was considered a less important thing that kinda had to be stifled and smothered, in order to survive/fit in.
But I've been getting used to it, more and more. It's therapeutic art. Mix n matchin fashion. Disloyal, didn't play they part, they missin in action.
Beggin for a second chance?
